Wow where has the time gone?

Well Shortly after my last post I began to get sick and a REALLLLLLY long story short, I ended up being diagnosed with Crohn's Disease January 2009. I can honestly say that it was a HUGE growing experience for me...In many mannnnny ways.

Needless to say I lost track of things and am just now trying to get back to sharing with you all..

I have acquired a new job (with the same company) in that time, and have also received my reiki 2 in that time. I have been doing reiki sessions for co-workers & friends / family (more so co-workers) and have learned how unique each experience truly is.

Also I am a member of the DHN (the Distance Healing Network) - I highly suggest googling this if you are interested in either becoming a member or for in asking for help for a friend / family member; As well as a member of the CCFC (Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of Canada). :) I figured it was a good idea to be involved with my fellow "crohnnies" and it has indeed paid off hugely having a network of people in the same but slightly different boat. :)

Also since then, I have been Married, lost a couple of dear family members, and am now expecting my first child. yay! :D Due August 30th, and I can't wait. :) Always a bright moment in the dark somewhere. :)

Right now I guess my interests are pertaining to: working with reiki, learning all I can about angels, my guides, improving my dowsing skills and fingers crossed to possibly win a lotto some day. Bahahahaha.

Will be back to chat more soon...some food for thought to check out...I recently watched the Louise Hay "How to Heal Your life" Video..wow. Powerful if you are willing to listen. :)

I did read the book, but it was nice to have her explain it, and then others, she is one smart, and beautiful lady. (In more ways than one) :) Be well and be back soon.

Reiki - Halifax and Dartmouth

Hello and Greetings to all.

I have received my Reiki 1 this year and will probably not be able to afford my second level until next year or so I believe...

I am looking for feedback from any individuals as to their experiences with reiki. I've just encountered a let down of sorts. I did not get the job that I had applied for...the kicker of it is...I lost to someone with wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more experience than myself in that particular job as that person is the top in that field and is retiring within a year or two...it just boggles my mind that everytime I lose a job competition, it's that I was one away from getting it, but someone wayyyyyyyyy more skilled than me WHOOOPED My BUTT in the interview...I can't even be cranky about that. LOL. That's the part that gets me..I am not losing in incapable or silly people, but to veryyy knowledgeable and informative and on top of their game people.

I can't even imagine how cranky I would be right now if someone worse than me had gotten the position, and we all have been in that situation at one time or another...well it has only happened once to me that someone less capable got the job and it is my plan in life that this should never happen again. I mean it's bad enough that someone that's good beat me, but someone that isn't would make me lose my mind. :P

In terms of Reiki the sessions have been going well. I try to incorporate some level of reiki into my life everyday. Either a quick self session during my lunch break, or soothing away the headaches when you hear you have been passed over for a job by someone more qualified....ya know. :P That sorta thing.

I am planning on doing a self session today as I believe that I am getting sick. I hate getting sick...and I am a big baby when it happens so if i get stuck at home sick expect a couple of posts on here for the same day. ;)

So *sigh* I did not get that position, and I wish I had of, but there are a couple more positions to be posted yet so just hold your breath and maybe in another month or so I will be here saying YAY about another job...:P Meh...We will see. ;)

Anyways I guess this is it...I wish I could go and take my reiki level 2 on the 22nd of this month, but I just can't swing the money right now for it...reiki will be available to you when it is time to take level 2...that's all I get when I meditate on it...the money will come when it's time...hmmm...A good theory but that's just a way to say when you work your butt off for a pay raise you won't get it...Giggle...no that's my bitterness talking. :P

I absolutely believe when I am ready then the opportunity will be there...obviously I am not ready yet.

Much love to all.

Reiki this week...

This week has been a challenging week.

First off my cousin passed away, she will be missed, but I am glad she is no longer in pain. My thoughts are with her.
Then the next day another family member passed away from the same side of the family. It has been a difficult week for many.

I have been sending out reiki to individuals as able, and I hope that it has been helping them...but that's it exactly, all I can do is hope where I am not at home.

I had to take Tuesday off, I just couldn't make it through I was so tired from all the stuff going on with my family, plus I was on the tail end of a cold/flu thing.

So I spent Tuesday and Wednesday sleeping, and then meditating and going through 2 different guided meditations. One is a guided meditation for Reiki that I have on CD that I enjoy thoroughly each and every time that I do it, and the other is on youtube "REIKI RACHEL" has some really relaxing exercises, certainly worth looking into, as I personally enjoy these very much. I find her very soothing.

After Tuesday I have made it successfully through the week, but it has been a long and tiring week for the family. I will continue sending out reiki to those in my family that require it, and someone still requires it because it is still flowing.

God bless them all in their time of need. My thoughts are with my family.

However as a result of my Tuesday recharging day, I have made it through this week far more successfully than I would have hoped. I achieved quite a bit this week considering I was not at work Tuesday at all. And I thank my employers for their understanding of my situation. I am lucky to have bosses like them, as you know many bosses don't see the need for time off outside of "immediate family" for a death, but thankfully mine do and understand the pressures that this places on my family. I mostly needed the time off to recoup. There were phone calls constant for 2 or 3 days, and being a scorpio with a life path 2, and rising sign of cancer I tend to take on other people's troubles. Reiki has been an excellent source of helping me cope with this part of my mentality, and to help me to let go of things that are not mine to worry about. It is taking me a great deal of time to deal with letting go of other's responsibilities, but I am trying and eventually I will be where I am supposed to be.

I am currently working on divining my spirit guide's name as I had tried meditating and visual exercises, which I am continuing to do, but it is slow going, at least I am receiving calm and peace during these meditation sessions. :)

Nas Concert and Recent Developments

Hello all. I had a blast. ;)

On an unrelated note the reiki has been flowing fairly strongly during my recent self sessions, and other sessions. Also, I smudged my apartment the other day...and I also bought a new pendulum and am currently working on becoming familiar with it.

Not much else...too tired. My sisters were too sensitive to receive, or where not in the right frame of mind...I am alright with that...all I can do is keep trying to do reiki. If people are not interested then they are not interested but I am going to keep practising...it is just a mentality I believe...although I am 100% that I need to be doing MUCH more meditation then I have been up to this point. I mean I am doing daily sessions on myself, plants and the pets, but working up to people is truly my goal...and the people I have done it on so far do not understand...I need to do a full session on someone...I will need to think about this...for you cannot really learn more until I begin doing full sessions...perhaps I should just continue on myself..people will ask me if they want a session correct??

Anyway, all in all I had a good weekend but did not exercise the reiki ability as I should have done, but when you are running around shopping and hanging out with family all weekend there is not a lot of time if they do not wish to have session done. :)

On a go-forward note...time to get my butt moving on this. :)

2 weeks after attunement continued...

Hello all.

So not a lot has changed since the last post...

I have given both my fiance and my cat and all the plants at work reiki sessions and so far they are all benefiting from the experience, or at least they seem to be.

I am still experiencing frustrations that I am not in possession of a reiki bed...it makes me sad that I cannot do a full session on anyone due to my comfort. If I could blot out my discomfort then I could go through an entire session, or if someone had a high enough table that I could lay them out on that bad boy then it would be good...but right now as things stand..... I can make it through roughly a 30 minute session on people, my cat only does it for 10 - 15 minutes, but she is losing weight, looking healthier and not attacking me when she is in a playful mood anymore...now she just does her running away and then running back, and jumping when I move...it's cute and wayyyy less painful than when she was getting me before. :P YAY for Reiki...it is mellowing my baby out.

Also, my anger issues....? AHAHA. They are lessening...I do not feel anger anymore..sure I get worked up, but I make myself sick if I fight with people or get too upset about any one thing...so surely it is best to ignore the stupid stuff because really life is too short to fight with people about dumb stuff.

I am not even as argumentative as I was...sure I am still me :P and I'm going to let my opinion be known...but I am not going to go and freak out at someone...I can logically explain it to someone, and if they don't agree then that's fine...Hey...Maybe they are even right??? *Note to self* - doubtful that I would be wrong. Ahahha. *Just teasing, don't be getting worked up out there people. :P * (You know who you are. :P)

This weekend I am going to be getting together with my sisters and my mom to have a "girl's weekend". It should be really nice...here's to hoping. (my sisters and I tend to disagree quite a lot...it's not something i can control, but this will be the first gathering since my attunement, so i am hoping that I can just ZONE people out when I disagree, because even though I feel changed from my reiki 1, my sisters are not changed and also enjoy confrontation... *It's in our blood.* :P

Anyways, that's all I have for now...wish me luck. I am thinking of giving my sisters and mom a reiki session, or at least the ones that can handle it. :P My sister is VERY sensitive to the energy. :)

The 2nd week following the attunement...

Okay so arguing over things is no longer something that I can keep up for any amount of time. I used to argue a lot...however this is definitely something that I no longer have any interest in. I am more than willing to discuss something with someone, or talk things out, but I no longer have that nervous tension so backed up that when I argue with someone I snap and it becomes escalated. I can't do that anymore and I am really glad also that I can't.

I do not like arguing with people and in my family not that we argue a lot...we are actually doing alright at the moment, but I no longer feel the need to correct "ignorance" issues. I mean I do, but I state my point of view, that's it and then if the other person does not care to listen then that is absolutely their choice and I have no desire to force my opinion on anyone else...

If you know me personally at all, you will know that I used to be down to argue about anything. I was not understanding other people's reasons for not understanding my point of view and I consider that more when I am talking about any topics, but especially sensitive topics with peers or anyone.

I have to say that I am feeling more proud of myself now... I do not feel as self concious as I used to, I still have a great deal of nervous tension, but I am hoping that as time progresses I will have this with me less and less. *That is my hope anyway.*

My cat practically begged for a session this weekend. :P She crawled all over me, and I knew what she was looking for, so we cuddled up in our chair and away I went. I think my cat and I need to come to an understanding though that she does not HAVE to maul and kiss mommy all the time while we have the session. :P She can just relax and enjoy it, which she does, but she begins by mauling and that is not necessary. I know she enjoys it and appreciates it. So far she has been my most successful recipient by far, but at the same time I am not able to practise as long because it hurts me to lean over someone.

I WOULD LOVE to get myself a reiki bed. Just a plain one for a nice relaxing session. This is definitely not something that is going to be soon in my path as I have other things that I am needing, but most definitely will be looking into this...OH and if someone needs to get rid of theirs they could always let me know. (If you are moving or something like that...)

My teacher says if you put out the good intention that there will be some sort of positive return from that, so even if you know where I can get a nice bed within the HRM area for cheap...???

Thank you all for listening to my ramblings. Much Love. ;)

Day 4 Since Attunement... :)

Ok...So I am really tired today but that is because I didn't do my session this morning like I like to do...However... what I have to mention is that I have plants at my work and I have been giving them reiki on my breaks, lunches or when I first come in and anyways, I have a spider plant that was nothing and now he is beautiful..

He was literally only a little transplant of a much larger plant, and I didn't think he'd even be able to grow any he was so small...but he is BBIG and BEAUTIFUL now. Well rather he has like 6 offshots now whereas he was only 1 before.

My next task is to Reiki a cactus we have a work (different kind) that is half dead from where we had him sitting, but I am looking forward to seeing what kind of a difference I can make on him.

Our other plant at work is HUGE. I mean he was large before, but since starting to REIKI him what a difference.
My cat loves the reiki but still keeps the sessions short but she comes back when she wants to. My fiance on the other hand would have an all day session if I could do it...

One thing is for certain...if I am going to begin giving sessions to people then I need to get a bed for it, because I did the session with my fiance just laying down on our bed and it is Wayyyyy too low for me to be doing that. (need the higher table) (DEFInITELY)

Anyways, that's all for now...just some quick observations, but I am loving it, practising often, and hope to move on to my test group soon. Really. I can't even believe it.

I am sitting here in my chair at work, a couple minutes prior to when I have to start work....

TIRED as you can possibly imagine as it was too hot and stuffy for me to sleep comfortably last night...but still here I am, and after a couple of energy rising exercises I feel great. :) I know that I am still tired, but I am very comfortable, and the tiredness kind of blends in with the energy I now feel flowing through me that is much more noticeable than I once felt it to be. :)

The energy flows across the back of my shoulders as I have thought that this is an area that requires energy to help in getting rid of the garbage there. As a life path 2 I kind of seem to be able to soothe people just by listening, however I also pick up a lot of their garbage...the positive thing being of course that I can now protect myself from this a little bit...so as I sit here, every once in a while I think about the energy and think about my shoulders/back and sure enough the chills will flow across my back and with each sweep it feels just a little bit looser.

On a related note, I had my first mini session yesterday with someone...This was only 30-45 minutes and I felt that he could have certainly benefited from more, but he was loosey-goosey when he finally got up.

During the session he fell almost asleep he was so relaxed and I am thinking that I will begin shopping around for the right music to use during a session. I have an idea what I want as I had a dream I was talking to someone and they were telling me which would be the right music to use, and I have the impression, but as I did not have my journal handy (I fell asleep on the couch not my bed.) BUT I am fairly certain that if I go to a music store and look around that I would know it by seeing it...it's just a feeling I have. :)

Anyways, so that is where I am at today. I will probably post again tonight as I want to try a self session by Patricia Cyr *(guided exercise)* but will let you all know how that plays out. :)

Much Love! I have never felt that way from sitting in simple meditation...or should I say rather that I have never been able to reach such a deep state of calm and peace so quickly...But as soon as my teacher began the attunement things just felt right.

Colors flashed behind my closed eyes, peace and calm surrounded me, and a couple of other things or impressions came to me during that time as well, and my attunement was a very quick process that seems to have made absolutely no difference from my friend's who have been attuned during a longer process, or perhaps it just didn't matter for me..where every one is unique and has different experiences, there are I am sure many outcomes for many individuals.

As I sit here, I reflect on my first session besides on myself, plants or pets...this was on my Fiance. I have to give him points, as whether he believes in it or not, he does understand that this is something I need to do, and that while he lays there he feels tingly, warm, calm and almost able to fall asleep.

I will be continuing to make notes or random comments such as this as I make my way along this journey of learning Reiki, and anything else I happen to come to realize or learn.

Thank you for your time to any who read this. I am still sitting next to my creek. I don't feel the need to go anywhere else while I am sitting there. The beautiful sounds filter in and I am just sitting and enjoying the peaceful beauty of it all. The sun is filtering down through the trees and I am warm and comfortable beneath it's rays.

I am thinking of nothing besides of how perfect it is for the majority of the time, when all of a sudden, last night I think I had a visitor. Now see, I think this is my happy place, so that is where I go when I am stressed, or just craving a break from my everyday grind.
My visitor walked up to where I was sitting, very slowly, but there was never an intrusive feeling. Rather, more like I expected that this person would be along sooner or later...he/she had the most beautiful glow about them...like the sun had decided to settle upon them and to remain. I say, He/she because it was unclear to me. I sensed both qualities, however I have the feeling that the individual in this instance, or at least last night, was coming across as male.

Even now, as I type, I have chills running up and down my back. Which generally happens, either when I am freezing...or when I have realized something. I wonder if I realized something right there without actually realizing it? Like perhaps that individual was my guide and this was my introduction to him/her...which I again just got chills from, so I will assume this is the case...
However, it could have been a family member passed on, someone astral travelling and looking for me, the possibilities are endless are they not if only I use a little imagination?

Well my friends the time has come for me to say adieu, and off to work I go. I hope to hear comments back from you...anything positive rather, that is not telling me I am crazy would be good..but seeing as how I enjoy my self and my life quite a lot, I would probably assume that my opinion has to over-ride any low opinions that others have of me. So ha Ha Ha ha ha...the ravings of a dreamer. :P

Have a lovely day!!

Last night and how I feel today...

Hello.

Well last night I returned from the theaters fairly late as my boyfriend and I had booked the Oxford to show a movie...that being beside the point...
When I got home though, I had been so stressed, running on a lack of sleep, had already worked all day, and was just feeling run down...but I tried to do my relaxation technique. After a few minutes, my mind was in the drifting stage. No thoughts were being flown at me, and I was very comfortable and thought for a minute that I was sleeping. But no, or maybe yes, but whatever it was, it was the next level of either my dreaming, or of projection. Even as I now think on it, I can feel the energy that I felt then shooting down my back causing tingling sensations all over my back, but also a release of built up pressure.

The dreaming last night brought me to a place where I was staring into a creek, actually remarkably similar to a place that I used to sit when I was little when I just wanted to be by myself, unwind, and enjoy the quiet. When I finally laid myself down to sleep, instead of just letting whatever come at me that would be good for me, I purposefully attempted to visualize that scene again...this is now my new relaxing thought I think. I have never been so relaxed except for when I was coming back from Mexico and realized at the Cancun Airport, how relaxed I had been and that I was coming home.

As a side note, Mayan People (Mayan Descendants) are some of the beautifulest people that I have ever met. In general in the area of Mexico where I was, the men and women descendants were shorter and rounder people, but so beautiful. Very friendly, so relaxed, welcoming, they have not a lot, but are happy with what they do have.

It seems like a quieter place, as opposed to North America, where everyone wants to "own" things, wants more money... Yes I am a part of that culture, I love to work, I like to get paid for what I do, but if you could work somewhere that you work less hours, and get more enjoyment, now that to me sounds like the best job ever, even though I am something of a workaholic.

I have been more seriously considering attaining my REIKI level 1 as of late. If there is anyone who has any suggestions, or who has received their Level 1 in the Halifax area, I would love to hear about it, any information would be appreciated.

Thank you for the information!

Ideas on the NS Pharmacare plan?? I am still processing data, and attempting to find a walkman/cassette player. (An interesting task.) But more importantly I have been working on relaxing and trying to "talk" to myself more. *By this I mean to practice meditation* I have at least been trying to get to a relaxed enough state that I can remain in this vibe for half of my lunch hour.

I have found that upon returning to work to relieve the next person for lunch, that I am far more relaxed and feeling much better than when I left to go sit in a quiet corner by myself. I will of course be trying to work on this state and improve it.

If I can manage to feel this same feeling for at least an hour after my relaxation then I am very proud of myself. Yes it is a small accomplishment, but the feeling of calm and peace that descends upon me is quite reassuring.

I hope that you all will take the time to sit, listen to your breathing, and don't think about anything. Time flies by in this position. I like to "feel" that a light is passing through and cleansing, healing as it moves through-out my body. Such a happy and positive feeling.

Anyways, I hope that you will all take at least a half hour to be by yourself at some point, even if you do it right before you go to bed, whenever it will most benefit you. My couple of minutes to myself benefits me most when I need it at lunch time. It prepares me to stay calm, collected and able to find any information that I am required to. In other words, I am very tuned in to what I need to accomplish. :)

Best of luck fellows on achieving the same state.

Remembering my astrology Reading...

For those who know, and those who don't....I am spending today feeling ill as anything. But as I lay huddled in my blanket in front of this computer, slightly drowsy from the sinus pills I have been taking...I am thinking about my astrology reading that I had done by a wonderful woman by the name of Holly.

Holly is indeed a wonderful lady, I may have even mentioned that I want to go see her business partner and get a past life regression done...I don't know what I am waiting for on that...but i will use my excuse that I do not enjoy the packed feeling that you get on a bus. Now see, on a subway you don't get that in the same way. A subway can be even more packed than the bus, usually are, but they don't bother me.

Anyways, So I have been thinking about my reading. I am thinking about it purely because I am planning on going for my psychic reading tomorrow. Whether you believe in it or not is up to you of course...but I personally do believe. I, as well as anyone has had a reading done by some real slime balls, who would say just anything that would probably ring true to hundreds of thousands of people, I.E. "You are having relationship problems....this will pass after much discussion between yourself and this individual." OH...Well then...I guess that means I should just think that pertains to a certain relationship in my life then??? No No No...there are people out there, that do know what they are doing, who genuinely want to help people, yes they want to get paid for it, but so what?? So would anyone else who is working in a trade. You wish to get paid for being a carpenter? Well that's a "gift" from god...(If you want to look at it this way...) or you are a therapist...Well...you counsel people...and we KNOW that you get paid for it...same with psychics. (the genuine ones).

Anyways, the woman in question that I am going to go to is someone that most of my entire family has seen. This woman has been accurate in many things within my family...I have put off going until now as I never felt that I needed any assistance. I have just made choices and worked with what I had started...Now...well...A little bit of extra information never hurt...and even if I do for some reason completely disagree with her, There is Always FREE WILL. Just like if I got a bad feeling during the reading or felt that she was hokey...then I would get up and leave...no harm done.

However, I do not think she is HOKEY and will therefore remain and listen to what she has to say. So upon my return I will tell you what I think friends. If I came to any personal revelations or if she confirms any ideas that I already have floating around inside my head. We shall see. Until then, I hope you all have a great weekend...I hope that I have something interesting to tell you when I get back, If NOT...well, I can always think of another topic. :)

Til Then My friends...

Unsatisfying dream/memory recall

Okay. Well I know it takes practice, and the most frustrating thing to me is that upon waking, yes I initially take down notes or thoughts, or anything that may be what I wanted to remember upon waking, whether that be coming from a lucid dream, or during astral projection...but the notes when I go back and reflect on them...Bits and pieces from different scenarios. It is difficult to sort out the lucid dreaming, from the astral.

Also, it is quite disappointing to go back and read these notes later on, as when I initially awoke, everything was so clear, I jotted down as much as I could, and then when I went back, certain of the emotions I had felt at the time, only to discover that there is not even a flicker of emotion in trying to visualize or remember the scene as I had seen it maybe only an hour previous.

I will, like a good beginner on the astral journey, attempt to keep this up... My dream journal is slowly starting to fill up, Let us hope, that eventually I will be met with success. I know that day is coming...so I will just keep striving in the right direction. Yay for me.

Also, if anyone has any additional tidbits or words of wisdom, I am more than willing. :)

Thanks.

-Jamie-

Astral Projection and Reincarnation what?

Alright. I'm out with it. Anyone that sees me on a daily basis probably knows that I have been saturating my mind with astral projection and reincarnation information. What free time I don't spend on the Internet looking for peoples' personal experiences, stories, and articles or information, I spend reading every book I can get out of the library, which unfortunately in not enough material to completely saturate myself.
My evenings right before bed, I enjoy to engage in meditation in an attempt to condition my mind to get to the point where I will either: A. Eventually remember my projections or B. That I will be able to continue experiencing the deep levels of relaxation that I have come to enjoy from my evenings.

Also of interest, I have gone about inquiring into a regression therapy session. The woman in question is business partner to the lovely woman I get my astrology reading done by occasionally. I feel very comfortable with both of these ladies, and hope only that this will be a success and one that will be bringing me perhaps a little bit more knowledge about myself.

Of course, I am trying to first be able to easily get to a deep level of relaxation so to ensure myself the best possible chances when I do finally get to have an appointment with her.

Anyone have any tips, hints or words of wisdom to impart?

Happy Halloween approaching...

Ya know, I like Halloween. I have enjoyed the trick or treating, then having girlfriends over and watching scary movies, then a period where I did nothing really...and now I am back to the point where I like to watch movies with my boyfriend, and watch off the balcony for all the little devils, witches, lady bugs, and whatever other costumes they come up with.

No offense to the teens, but my favorite costumes, has and always will be those of the little tiny children and the pets dressed up. They were always just a little bit too cute to be out trick or treating but I always thought they were adorable!!

Scary movies...but what ones to watch?? I am hoping that my boyfriend will pick out which one he wants to watch. ;) So that I can claim I didn't choose it while I hide my eyes behind my fingers. Oh yes...I am one of those. *sigh*

What does everyone else do for Halloween? Any plans in particular? I mean two mornings in a row really!!

All I have this morning and I promise to make this shorter is a couple of things. FIRST off...here is a quote from the Hansard proceedings July 27, 1988 by Lawrence O'Neil. " Unborn children across this country are being suctioned from the womb by women who want to put an end to their pregnancy. Those children are being dismembered." ALSO he said " IT appears that there is a widespread acceptance of the notion that a mother should have the right to control her body. There is no such right."

Okay..pause for dramatic effect..... Wait a second, who do you think you are exactly and who appointed you to tell WOMEN and I MEAN WOMEN..not just the mothers which you listed, as most women at least consider becoming mothers at some point that we do not have the right to control our own bodies?? WHAT??? I hope someone near you swats you with a magazine when they read that quote today. (Joke. *wink*)

While I may or may not agree with abortion. I AM A FIRM believer in freedom of choice..which I believe is what Canada represents. You cannot just outright say that abortion is bad. It's not good...but that does not mean that it is bad. In some cases it is a necessary evil. Violent crimes (RAPES), medical reasons (The mother would die if the pregnancy did not end). Of course there are other situations which are more open to interpretation and it is dependent upon each situation. Unexpected pregnancies where neither the father or mother have come to the decision unanimously...the point being...Mr. O'Neil...that we as women have a choice...we include our spouses in the decision as the situation warrants, as both parents made the child...but make no mistake...WE DO have a choice.

And I'm sorry...but do you think that it would be better if there were no birth control and no abortion (OF COURSE I THINK birth control methods should already be being observed by women not wanting to conceive. AND by men prior to even considering abortion. Clearly abortion is the option we all want to avoid if possible) and then there were thousands/hundreds of thousands of unwanted births happening in every province all across Canada.

Are there not enough children in care as we speak? All I am saying is that You are WRONG Mr. O'Neil. A woman has EVERY right to control her body...the same as I would not expect someone to try to stop you from doing whatever you feel you need to, to your body. That is your right.

I was actually astounded when I read that quote. Of course, I know there are anti-abortion crusaders out there...but the end part of that quote where you said "..a mother should have the right to control her body. There is no such right." I just about lost it there. Good Job. I haven't read anything that got me going as quickly as when I was reading about Mr. Casey and Mr. Harper's "So Called Decision" yesterday in the news. BRAVO.

WOAH Wait a second...what did you say Mr. Harper??

Okay...It is well known by people close to me, perhaps not my readers as of yet, but I do not like Stephen Harper. The only reason he is in power CLEARLY to me...is because his party joined with the Conservatives. Otherwise he wouldn't have received even a single vote from eastern Canada due to his "bullying" tactics, bad-mouthing us, and in general I do just not see this man as fit to have run of our country.

An article in the Chronicle Herald this morning has me livid. Mr Harper...has turned down the support from the tories in the Colchester-Cumberland in support of their Mr. Bill Casey.

Now first I would like to mention that I in no way support the tories. BUT. I have met Mr. Casey, AND he has been a TORY LONGER than Mr. Harper has been a Tory. Please explain to me...the whole reason in saying he cannot be a party candidate is because he voted against his own government's budget legislation to protest changes to the Atlantic Offshore accord.

Some of Mr. Harper's earlier ideologies that he was fond of .... OBVIOUSLY...Western Alienation...so why...pray tell is he black balling MR. CASEY for standing up for what he thinks is right for his area??

As I said, I am not a TORY, but many people in Northern Nova Scotia where I grew up are...and I mean DIE HARD TORies...and I have to tell you...if MR. CASEY leaves the Conservatives...well...people really like him in my area and we know he stands up for our area...what do you see happening??

So in closing...come on Mr. Harper...you really think it's necessary to go to the extremes that you are?? I liken this to....the spoiled boy that tells all the kids except the one who is dating his crush that they can come over and have a party at his house....but not that boy...because he is dating the girl.

So what that means Mr. Harper in a roundabout way is that...You may lose some of your faithful and die hard tories...will it be enough to boot you out of government?? I can sure hope so. Your unwillingness to talk to the free press, your views and ideologies clearly still represent the west and not eastern canada....Let's just say this faithful liberal is hoping for an election...and honestly...as long as there is a positive change...I would be happy.

GO BILL CASEY!

"Black Snake Moan"

Hello readers!

Today I am talking about "Black Snake Moan". Last night my boyfriend and I rented and watched this movie. Well...Samuel L. Jackson as always, never fails to meet my expectations. I am not exactly a fan of Ricci, but I have to give the girl credit...she fit the part perfectly. Rae and Lazarus were very well rounded characters in my opinion.

Lazarus (Samuel) is the man. ALWAYS the man. Although I have to say that the preacher was also an amusing character.

Rae (Ricci) is a girl with a problem. Her man goes away to do a tour (His first obviously) and she goes crazy. As the story you can see that she is afflicted and is a nymphomaniac which has gathered a very negative reputation. Lazarus, a man whose wife has left him for his "brother". Lazarus is a honorable man and this can be seen through-out the film. One has to note though, how impossible this film would have been without Samuel.

I need you all to go see this movie. What did you think? I have not enjoyed a Ricci movie in a while, and I have to say that this film is one that I will be getting.

Bravo Jackson and Ricci.

Cancelled the Imac

*SIGH* After frequent dealings with the DAL PCPC we have come to the decision and have canceled our order with this business. The service we received I am sorry to say was not on par with the service we should have received due to the price we would be paying for the computer. I do not plan to pay a large amount of money only to get jerked around by the business in question.

Please do not think that we made this decision lightly. My boyfriend had spoken with a daytime manager, a shipping/receiving clerk, and a couple store sales people, and not one of them would give us a direct answer. Instead everything was "pass the buck". It was either Apple's fault, or the clerk taking the order's fault, or the most infuriating...It was our fault. I do not care what they say...have they never heard the phrase "the customer is always right"????

Obviously they have not taken any customer service positions before. Anyways, I know that word of mouth is more powerful but I hope that someone planning on purchasing a MAC computer has the good sense to go directly through apple as the delays you will get and the confusion of relatively simple orders is more than slightly bothersome.

I hope that you read this review and understand my frustration. We were trying to purchase this computer though the local area, in order for my boyfriend to receive his student discount and the other part of the promotion at the time which is why we had ordered when we had, but the constant denying of responsibility was bordering on extremely rude, and we honestly felt the best thing to do was to go where someone would at least care that they would be losing a good sale.

Think before you buy. ALSO do you notice that there is a month gap since I last wrote about the imac?? So much for 7 business days huh??

-J-

Extinction and blood Collection

Hello. Did you know that only 3% of Canadians Donate?? What is wrong with us? For normally being so good to our fellow man, we are ridiculously sad when it comes to blood donation. On the flip side however, there are also so many restrictions now on donating blood that the blood donations have lost their primary donating group. (The military) - This is due to them being overseas for extended periods of time, yet one would assume that they are absolutely one of the groups that require the blood. (Next to cancer, burn and surgery patients)

I am writing this in hope that some of you will decide to donate. If you go during the week, and in Halifax they have a shuttle to pick you up so that you can do it at lunch time. So really why not? Lunch time is such a quiet time to go and donate blood as well. The lines are basically non-existent, and honestly it doesn't hurt. You feel a sting and that is it...and to be truthful...the lady who jabs your finger at the beginning to check your iron is the one I am scared of...something about her reminds me of the diabetes checks my grandfather used to impose upon us. Ha Ha. Truly tho, my finger tip was bruised after this last time, and my arm was fine. Go Figure huh?

Anyways Resident Evil: Extinction. My boyfriend and I recently went to see this movie for his birthday. I am the resident evil fan, he is also a fan, but more just a fan of Milla I think. By the way she is Due in November and I for one, am extremely excited to see pictures.

Returning to resident Evil, extinction it was amazing!! I will wait a little bit longer before openly discussing this so as to not ruin it for anyone, but suffice it to say that I enjoyed this quite a bit. One or two parts were a bit much, but overall it was great. Please go and see it so that we can discuss it.

Ah Life is Good but I am oh so tired. :P

Hello everyone.

Yes life is good, but yes I am very tired. I have tomorrow off for my scheduled extra off, and then Monday is my day to go brides dress shopping with my sister. :) So no work again until Tuesday. Not a bad thing I guess. However it all depends upon how many movies my significant other has to see this weekend for the Atlantic Film Festival before it wraps up.

Also of note, tomorrow or rather late tonight Resident Evil: Extinction is out. I am not certain if the hype will have been worth it. I sure hope it will be. :P Anyways, I don't have too much right now...but if anyone goes to see the movie tonight...you could always leave me a comment about whether you liked it or not. It has almost been a week why isn't the computer here yet??

On another more positive note, my boyfriend and I have recently purchased cellphones and now have our very own cell phone packages. I am slightly excited as this means that we can talk to each other during the day and can now make plans that don't involve going home first. Yay for Cell phones. Also, with him being in school, it is nice for him to be able to check in if he has to stay and do something at school, or if I am not home when he gets home to be able to call and ask me to pick something up.

All in all it is so far very much appreciated. Although, I do believe that my poor cat is not enjoying being tormented into posing for our cameras. HA Ha. So hopefully there will be a computer by Monday or Tuesday. Whoot. Whoot. This should be fairly exciting! :D At the very least we will be able to burn off our home videos from past trips and the like which will be exciting, as sadly my poor Toshiba laptop is just not capable. Although, for a laptop with very little memory, ram or will to live...and being a couple years old...it has survived well enough.

The new computer will have everything I need. Boys what I could do with a TB of Data though. ;) Maybe a future upgrade...Hmmmm
Anyways as soon as it gets here and we play around with it for a bit I will let you know what I think...seeing as I am a PC user and have only ever used Macs occasionally. (We shall see...hey, if I end up liking it...then that's great...but at least my bf will be able to use his video making software. It would surely die if it were installed on my poor laptop. :P)

See you all soon. Anyone with any opinions on the imac 24", 2.4 can of course post them here. I love hearing it. That's how I will start off. ;) Well to begin with...I just watched this movie called the "education of little tree", I mean Just because I am someone that likes to do things immediately afterwards. I don't want the tamed down reaction that comes from thinking over ones emotions that were felt during the viewing of the movie.

Here is the synopsis as listed on the rotten tomatoes website:

"The compassionate tale of 8-year-old Little Tree, an orphaned youth whose sojourn at his grandparents' backwoods Smoky Mountains cabin sparks a legacy of learning about his Cherokee roots and the oppressive government that seeks to assimilate him. Based on Forrest Carter's controversial novel."

Now that in itself doesn't tell you a great deal as it was more the acting than the plot that got me.

We will start with who the grandparents that were cast:
James Cromwell - This man always gets me.
Tantoo Cardinal - Another huge role would of course be in "Legends of the Fall"

The grandparents were an amazing casting. The couple had the right vibe for a couple of their age, and given the things that they had seen...it was excellent having these two. (I am slightly partial when it comes to them, but side by side for their roles...I was very happy with the selection that was made)

Next is John. John was played by Graham Greene who is always an inspiring actor to watch...movies such as Dances with wolves, or in thunderheart. His character was also very well created for this movie. I have to say however that I had 2 favorite scenes with his character. One was when he was in the church and as the hussy in the front on the church said she had been fornicating with all of these different gentlemen (Testify day @ church) HAhahahaa...and as she was going to list the next man and all of these men are running out of the church before she can actually say their names...well then the frog that Little Tree put into John's pocket makes a croak...just one...so it could have been from a man clearing his throat. I died laughing because he initially looked so sober...and then all of a sudden...he BURSTS out laughing in the church while all the disapproving whatever you want to call thems look on. AHAHAHAHAAAAAAAA...I was laughing so hard I was crying in my seat. Hahahahaa.
The second was when Grampa and John walked Little Tree to the village to send him off to the school. He did this part so quietly...he just grabbed Little Tree's other hand and they started walking off...no words...just he grabs his hand and starts walking. Excellent...I think you have to see it to understand why I am making a big deal...and even then, maybe you wouldn't get what I am saying. :P

Then finally we get to Little Tree himself...played by Joseph Ashton. For such a small boy...or for how small he looked...to do as well as he did with his roles/his lines and to be the main character is a big responsibility...but one that this young man met quite admirably. I would have to say that Grampa, Grandma and John were all preferred by me over Little Tree, but that's just because I felt that as the movie was about him, I expected him to do a good job...but it was mostly Grandma and Grampa that made me bawl..yes...bawl. Just some of the looks remind me of some of my older family member's looks. It just hits you and then all of sudden you are sitting on the futon wiping tears from the corner of your eyes because you just realized that you are crying. Tsk Tsk,.... You big sissy You.

Anyways, I thoroughly enjoyed the movie...I am going to go and see if I can find the part about john in the church again on youtube. Here's to hoping!

Thanks for listening.

-Jamie-

Let's clear the air about one thing....

Hello Everyone, I just wanted to clear the air about one particular subject that I have been seeing quite a bit about lately.

Domestic Violence

We are talking about fists here people.

I strongly believe and there are many who do not agree with me...but that if your significant other hits you...that's it. Game over. Do not pass GO and do not collect $200. Just grab your stuff and get the heck out. No...no, there's no need to talk about anything. Don't baby one more chance..Your ass is gone. There are more than enough fish in the sea ladies and MEN to allow this to happen to yourself...

I understand the problems involved with this having to be done as I have a girlfriend who had to do it while running from the crazy man, and trying to take care of her 2 kids...BUT I am extremely proud of her for not returning to him. There is absolutely no excuse for someone to lay their hands upon their significant other. Oh she was nagging you?? Well maybe she was, but you don't touch her for it. Same goes for all those crazy woman out there throwing things at their husband's heads, or swinging frying pans at them because they don't say things you like. Come on people have we lost all sense? You should be with someone because they are your mate...your closest friend...completely trust...etc...you know those kinds of things....soon as someone swings at my head I am gone and if they continued to harass me, I'd be calling the cops or the male family members to issue a verbal option...Bugger off or get beat down.

Anyways I read an article today in which it was talking about a particular couple and how the man in question had gone and hit his wife and didn't stop until she had to be rushed to an ER.

Do you know what comment I read that followed that?? Brace yourselves for it!

People were going onto the blog {Not a lot of people thank god... But enough that I felt it necessary to create this post} and saying "They hope that the couple is able to reconcile and continue with their loving union, because in the eyes of Christ....Ya DA Ya DA Ya DA!!!!!"

I FLIPPED....My post said something similar to "HOLD UP...did you just say...that even though he beat her down and sent her to the hospital she should forgive him and go about their lives???? OH NO YOU DIDN'T!!!"

Anyways, domestic abuse against one's partner, children, etc and ET AL...is completely out of place with what a family is supposed to be. Do not tell me it instills discipline. Come on people...I was spanked as a child and I am fine. There is a difference between a quick spank and BEATING a child. DO not tell me there is no difference. There is. I have seen both, and when I see someone BEATING their child...I step in and stop it. But if they are spanking them because the child bit another child or something stupid like that...COME ON PLEASE ...Really.

Of course as always feel free to comment, I am more than willing to defend my position and I feel justified in my position. But like I said, comments are more than welcome. :D Everyone have a great day!!

Fearless

Every once in a while people get this feeling that comes over them...I like to call it feeling fearless. You feel that nothing can stop you, nothing can bring you down, but there are always those that will try.
Well...I like to think that I feel fearless at least once a week. I wouldn't say that I feel like absolutely no one and nothing can stop me...it's more that I feel that nothing I do can stop me. I feel as if I can overcome myself and to make it to whatever goals and end results I have set for myself.

I am someone that loves to have clearly defined goals. These have to be things that are set by myself and that I have to personally strive very hard towards accomplishing...now they may only seem like something small to everyone else...but to me, if I finish these tasks, no matter how large, I am happy.

Case in point...
1. I wanted to move out of my parent's house - I am fairly independent and this just had to happen. Don't get me wrong. I love my parents very much...but I am too much like them in some ways to live with them. ;) Muahahah

2. Go to work for the government - this was really a 2 part goal as it involved selecting a schooling option, and then working my way into the government. So I chose the most likely path to get me into the chosen field and now I work for the government full time. (One of the, or possibly even the youngest FULL Time Government employee - won't last long I am sure. LoL)

3. Currently I am working on two/3 goals, but I generally never make these fully public to anyone until I have completed them, but I will say that 1 - involves my banking and plans for the future (Basically getting my finances sorted out), and 2 - involves, and as stupid as it sounds, working on some new age beliefs and activities. (not going into details here as I do not want to be considered loopy until after I have finished this second one. ;) ) and 3, perhaps writing...perhaps not...I'll never tell. :P Unless i want you to buy my book in which case I might drop a hint or two in my blog. LOL.

4. Future goals may turn into family, car, house, better job, but for right now I have put my goals onto the smaller ones mentioned above to ensure that I do not spend too much time on my goals, and not enough in assisting G with his. (I looking forward to helping him in anyway I can, although I think I may pretty much be useless, besides as someone to bounce ideas off of. LOL)

Anyways, i kind of got off on a tangent here as I think I may have mentioned this somewhere else on the blog. OOPSie. :P

O ya, Graham thinks I am crazy so I will list my own personal belief on here:

Family before friends, friends before strangers, nova scotians before the rest of Canada, Canada before other countries and I think you get the picture. ;) (That is the order in which I defend and love things - as a general rule, not always 100% applicable as I have a couple friends that I would fight with anyone even family over...:P ;) NOT MANY mind you...but a couple. ;) And the only other time the above does not apply is when someone has done something really wrong, in which case, I would probably be the first one to admit that the person was wrong and even perhaps to get really mad. :P

Okay enough weird talk for today. :P I hope everyone is enjoying their long weekend, I know that I sure am. :D

Grizzly Man Review...Crazy but beautiful

I just recently as in 4 minutes ago finished watching the "Grizzly Man". This is a documentary about Timothy "Treadwell", a man that would go to live in the forests of Alaska with the bears.
He lived there for months on end in the summer of every year, and you could just tell from the little bit of footage that when he was telling the bears that he loved them...the man meant it. It was as if by living with them he could become them, but not only that...it almost reminds me of old stories that say about animal spirits. This man felt that he was a bear, could be with the bears, and would sound like he was aspiring to reach the same level...something similar to the seeking of enlightenment, or of proof of a religious or spiritual experience...except I truly believe he felt it everyday.

I hope that if you like Documentaries, that you will run to your nearest store that carries documentaries, and will pick up this movie...I also strongly suggest that you pick up the movie deliver us from evil as that was also an amazing awe-inspiring documentation.

Please watch them.

Price of the imac!!

Holy Moly. Here is my brief rant on the news. Everyday I try to keep up at least a little on what is going on around the world, or even just in my city.

Here is an excerpt from my local newspaper, as well as the sketch that they released.

"Just after midnight, a boy and a girl, aged 13 and 14, were walking on a path behind Sir Robert Borden Junior High School when they encountered a man who asked to use one of their cellphones.

The man walked down the path with them and then picked up a rock, which he used to threaten the two teens into taking off their clothes.

The man then grabbed the girl by the throat and sexually assaulted both teenagers.

The suspect is described as a white male, about five-foot-eight to five-foot-10, with short dark hair and in his late teens or early 20s.

He was wearing a New York Yankees cap with American dollar bills on it. "

Okay first of all, I hope the sketch hopes narrow it down, but technically the hat could be anybody. My second question, and I hope not to upset anyone...but why were a 13 yr old, and a 14 yr old, walking around after midnight in an area that most intelligent adults, would not walk alone, or would not want to walk through during the day in a small group. Such places are not meant for people, especially little kids that should be home in bed by 12. Yes I know people grow up quicker now, but I am a little curious as why they were out that late...Hmmmm...Bad decision that is certain.

Finally...HOW DID HE THREATEN with a rock and nobody ran like a crazy person out of the woods?? HE WOULD HAVE TO CATCH ME First!! And then, I would be using my keys to scratch out his eyes. :P Gotta protect # 1 eh? And #1 does not feel like being told by a man holding a rock, I can tell ya that for sure.

A woman I work with said it best: "How you gonna go tell me that he threatened them with a rock and they didn't run?"

I hope that whatever happened, that the guilty party is apprehended or at least questioned as to what happened. It just bothers me that they were so young, and this is just the kind of news that is covering the paper all the time. Very sad, not to mention the fact that it happened at all.

Also we could mention the "terrorist attacks the world over", the wars, liars in high-powered positions... not to mention all the other violent acts happening. A sad state of affairs, and unfortunately it is only going to get worse.

Can someone please tell me where things changed? There needs to be more discipline going on in some of these families that is for sure. Controversial? No...not really. Common sense people...a little 10 yr old tells you they want to stay up til 12 to watch a TV show with you, but they have school the next day...Hmmm...the answer for those of you too confused to know it....Is NO.

Don't get me wrong, I believe in letting kids make their own mistakes, I mean otherwise they learn, but I think they would benefit with more family time, less of getting everything they want and Please...PLEASE...I have a hard time listening to people whine as if the world owes them something. NEWS FLASH CHILD...No one Cares! Stop Whining. All it will bring you is bad Karma. ;)

Peace out my sisters and brothers. :D I need to go read up on some karma. ;)

Healthy Eating

So hello everyone,

This is your host, the round, short and looking to lose some weight by healthy means.
So basically based upon the people that I have talked to so far... portion control is a key ingredient in the weight loss.

I am looking for healthy food recipes and would be extremely happy if someone, anyone could please offer me up some suggestions.

I am looking into a mixture of moderating my starch, and including more protein and nutrients, as the meals I generally cook are tasty, but that does not mean that they are healthy.

I.E. I am so very looking forward to this month.

First off my boyfriend starts school in September for a program that he has wanted to take for quite a while so I think that we are both extremely excited for him, about that.

Also this month, Is my boyfriend's birthday, my grand-father's burial finally, and Oktoberfest. Of course I have to say that the Oktoberfest one is the one that intrigues me the most. Always a good night had by all.... However, Sometimes, just sometimes, the ooom-pow-pow music drives me a little bit kooky, that is probably why I and everyone else drinks quite a bit of beverages, so that we don't actually have to listen to the silly music. Ha Ha.
I may pay a wee bit more attention to the music this year however. We shall see. I will be attending with a girlfriend, my boyfriend and myself for sure. And as always, most of the people I went to school with in my younger days will be there as well. It is quite an event for the little place that I grew up. The most interesting part, is that motels are booked a year in advance for the celebration by some of the Germans and other lovers of the event that attend.

I have no interest really in attending a beer garden, however the dance, even though I don't dance, is the one I need to go to, because it's the one people my age attend.

I hope to see all you Oktoberfest goers there again this year, and I hope September is a good month for everyone!

Help, I'm tired People!

Hello people! I just wanted to write a quick note saying how tired I am. This morning was a good start, but as I sit here, a couple minutes before I actually start work, I feel myself getting very sleepy.

Hopefully I can wake up soon because I have this feeling in my gut that today will be a busy day.

I hope that all of you are wide awake and bushy-tailed. :D
I just finished my orange juice and yogurt and am starting to pick up a little bit, so maybe I was just hungry. :P

See you all soon!

Love J

Blasted Border Guards

Okay so I have a slightly unfriendly title for them. So can you blame me? After further reading you will understand my frustration. My only true regret is that I didn't get the individuals name in question so that I could point it out on here.

When crossing the border after my delightful trip last week, we were pulled over...get this....because of liquor. Muahahaa. They asked us a whole bunch of questions, not the least of which being where we bought the liquor. Jeeeeeze People. Do you know what question came last? The VERY last. And is something that bothers me? DO you have any weapons in your possession?
OKay people. I will pause for dramatic effect.......

Do you have any weapons in your possession is the LAST question?? What is wrong with our system that this is the LAST question asked? Perhaps our border guard just was having an off day, but to me that was the most backward way of doing things.

Okay moving on...so we got pulled over because of the liquor. FINE. (We had one van with people, and one jeep so you know.)

So we go into the building with our claim forms the same way we would normally do it. And walk up to this lady working the desk. I say lady now because I always initially give another chick the benefit of the doubt. *wink - this refers to further in the story*

And she looks at our claim forms, and automatically assumes that she knows what the problem is and that we are 30 ounces over the legal amount to bring into the country. Which, I might add, we were not.

My mother-in-law tried to calmly explain things. Saying "I know it's confusing, but this is what happened..." Only to be cut off by the woman with her saying " Oh no ma'am it's not confusing. You owe taxes on 30 ounces of liquour."

Automatically, myself, my boyfriend and his father are ready to duel this chicky. You notice of course that she is no longer a lady. She has her hackles up and wants to fight and personally I found what she said to my mother-in-law to be highly rude as she cut her off before she could even hear the reason. (At this point I will mention that I am trying very hard to control my anger and my big mouth)

My father-in-law pipes up and says, "Well actually we don't owe anything" and he tries to explain to her, but she keeps cutting him off. I will now mention that my father-in-law is a RCMP officer and a very smart man, and to be talked to like an idiot by someone who clearly wants to just charge us without listening, he would consider this person a moron. Rightfully so, I might add.

Anyways she got her hackles up and said "Well, you can either pay or speak to my supervisor"
*ooooooooooh Don't tell your supervisor.!! I mean jeeze. Were we expected to run to the hills at this comment?"

Anyways, of course my father-in-law accepted the second alternative, and quite forcefully said actually that "Yes I would love to speak to your supervisor"

So instead of letting us speak to the supervisor because she's a silly person (changed my true wording to behave myself), she went onto the phone and explained while whispering in a corner. At which point she kept saying uh huh...ok...uh huh...ok...uh huh.... Which I took to mean him asking questions for further details and when she didn't have any more information because she cut us off, he was telling her to go check out the story and not to bother him with such silly stuff. She should technically be able to figure out the story by herself without getting hostile, but nooooooo.

Anyways, to basically bring an end to this story for those of you who just want to know what happened....

She asked like 4 other border guards about the question and this other lady spent forever trying to figure out how 3 - 26 ounces equaled up to the 80 ounces. It doesn't even make 80 ounces woman!! Jeeeeeze. Ya think they'd be able to count. Ha Ha. *Naughty Me*

Anyways, so when our lovely guard came back over, my temper got a little out of control when she said yet again, that we would have to pay taxes on the liquor.

So I said "Can you please explain to me, why...when we have 6 people claiming liquor that we are over the limit? Especially when we are 3 couples all residing in our own respective households?" (Possibly said with a bit more feeling :P)

She said "Oh, oh there's 6 of you claiming? And you are all over the age of 19?"
UH well Ya...that's what we were trying to tell her 20 minutes before hand when she cut us off...This is what I am talking about...all they care about is making money. What if we had of just said "Ok, I'll pay the taxes." ? They would have been making us pay for something we didn't owe them anything for.
Tsk Tsk Tsk

So finally basically to try and save face she said she needed to see the liquor, we said "fine." And we all headed out to look at the liquor in our vehicles.

My fiance and I headed over to the jeep as we were in that vehicle and laid out the liquor on the backseat so she wouldn't have to dig through our vehicle, and as she had already wayyyy Past my tolerance level, I was trying to keep my comments to myself or at least somewhat quiet.

After she finished looking in the Van she came over to the jeep. "Is this all the liquor"? She asked. We said yes, and she looked at the liquor, not saying anything (Because of course we were right), and then she saw the EMPTY liquor bags on the floor and said, as she was jumping into the vehicle like an ignorant person "I thought you told me that you had all the liquor out"

Pause.....

Okay, so do you think that maybe, should we have wanted to hide liquor to bring across the border, which we wouldn't because that's "wrong". That we would hide it in plain view so that some nosey chickita could come, see it and make a dive for it....

Well that'd be a no. So I must say that when she grabbed nothing but an empty paper bag, I chuckled. I chuckled quite loudly. LOL

So as she pulled out of the jeep this is what she told us "You are very lucky that I am so understanding, et al." And my eyes were probably the size of saucers as she was saying this because of how ridiculous the statement was. If she was any good at all she would have realized 3 minutes into the conversation what the situation was, but because she felt the need to be Queen of the Hill, she failed to do her job. I felt very strongly that we should talk to her supervisor, but in the end my father-in-law was right that we should just forget about her, but boys oh boys I would have loved to have spoken with her supervisor.

SO as she was pulling away from the vehicle saying "You are so lucky that I was here, because no one else would have understood, and I am scoffing as quietly as I can to not appear completely belligerent, So I piped up "So we were right though?" And she kept saying "Oh you were lucky", so I got a little louder and said to her, "We were right in how we divided up the liquor though right?" She just nodded because I don't think she wanted to actually admit how wrong and how silly her judgment actually was.

I also said, "Huh, so the problem was that you didn't look at the passports. Ok thanks then."

She walked away still saying how lucky we were that we got her...and I must tell you all, that right there, I cursed her in my head so that her supper burned that night as she cooked it....so Border Guard, where ever you are, you know who you are, I hope your supper wasn't too crispy.

Ha Ha to the Border Guard.

End of Day Blues...

All of you who work in an office environment have to know what I'm talking about. Those painful last minutes prior to when you actually finish work for the day. Argh!

The last hour is brutal, but as you try to work while occasionally throwing glances towards the clock borders on depressing. Oh yes I can go home and relax, but not before I sit and wait for the clock to change to that desired hour.

Think I can do it...ALMOST THERE...then smile and think of how good it will be to get home finally. (Use liquor once you arrive home if necessary to chase away the "OH my God today Sucked"s.

Muahaha. We drove down to North Conway in New Hampshire and stayed at the Saco River Camp Ground. This was possibly one of the best campground's that I have ever stayed at, PERIOD.

Bugs were hardly anywhere to be seen and certainly not any where near enough to even be an annoyance, and I mean that's saying something because I never wore bug spray during the entire trip.

The river was perfect for me and the canoe! I loved it. I mean I could have stood for a little more deep places for going down the river, but near our lot you could walk to one really deep swimming hole. Which was just gorgeous!

All the time I spent down there involved a great deal of shopping. *Ooops* In that shopping though I was able to purchase my boyfriend and I, a new camera. Whoot! I also happened to look up the price difference and while in Canada the camera is roughly 300, in the states it was 198 - We were there when the Canadian Dollar was at 94.5 Cents. Yay for Us.

We went up the Cog Railroad up the side of Mt. Washington as well. That was interesting! What a long ways up it is. Beautiful the whole way up, (About $55 bucks for an adult), but once you get to the top it is so cloudy (Makes sense as you are in the clouds at the top).

I personally think it makes a lot of sense that so many people have died up there, and not just in building the rail way, but also everyone else. (If you were to take a wrong step up there, or head out and then it fogs over the mountain - Hikers, or anyone else could very easily get lost. I mean a compass can help, but if you can't see your next step, well then it isn't exactly really helpful.)

Oooh also, Lindt chocolates!! Yay for chocolate first off. But in the states they sell Peanut Butter Lindt Chocolates. Come on...what are we poor cousins? Canadians like Peanut Butter too!! Send some our way. I have never seen a peanut butter lindt in Canada. I may be mistaken and they may sell them elsewhere, but they have not been anywhere I was looking for them. Only the red, blue and white ones mostly. Meh. Needless to say that we purchased a fairly large bag containing all sorts of Peanut Butter Lindt Chocolates! YAY!!

I think that in general everyone had a really great time. I know that I did. I predict a Canoe Trip in My and Graham's Future, but we shall see.
Until Next time. Toodles!!

Learning to Relax....

Something that was once so simple has become unbelievably difficult.

If you were to think about it...How many times a day would you say that you actually let down your guard? I'm talking about a 100% shut-down of all defense, worry, prioritizing and plain old fashioned curiosity in regarding your surroundings?

I believe that I am a fairly inquisitive person. Not that I'm nosy, which I might be...but that I like to know a lot of things...and I like to know what's going on around me, yes pretty much at all times I like to know.

A complete let-down of my guard is something that I don't let happen very often. I don't just mean the times when you get unbelievably drunk and act like a fool...I mean even sitting in a meeting room somewhere and just completely relaxing and letting down your guard. That all of a sudden would become the one time in which your bosses boss decides he/she wants you to explain your actions even though they have never spoken to you before.

Paranoid? No I don't like to think that I am, rather I am of the belief that it's better to be prepared than to be late and last one to the party.

Ways I relax:

Stretching (including mental exercises) really relaxes me. Now this can be mental relaxation, or physical stretches, but the act of stretching and releasing every muscle soothes me.

Reading - This REALLY relaxes me. I try to pay attention to when people speak to me, however if I am reading, odds are you may have to say it a second time, so perhaps just ignore it in the first place?

Aromatherapy/Bubble Baths - Okay you can say typical girl, but I enjoy a nice bubble bath. If I happen to be lucky enough to find the use of a jacuzzi or a whirlpool type bath, well then BONUS for me!! :P BUT a nice bubble bath, involving candles, a good book, some nice bubble bath that smells pretty, and maybe even a nice massage after the bath. Awwwww. The things I would do for a bubble bath like that. I have only ever had 2 baths that made it onto my memorable bath's list, but they are good enough to still be on there.

Have you thought about what relaxes you? When I was younger it used to be sitting at the maple camp and watching my father or grandfather throw wood into the fire. Yay, but now...now I am working with the 3 methods above, as well as trying to add more activities to my life that I find relaxing. I won't mention any of these activities right at the moment just because I am not certain as to whether or not I will try them. We shall see.

Any ideas on ways to relax, please feel free to mention them!

Bourne Three...The Best Of The Series Perhaps?

Without a doubt in this blogger's mind is more like it. To quote a very dear friend of mine "After watching Bourne 1, I thought it was great. After watching # 2, I felt that it was better than 1, but after reflection I realize that it was great but just in a different way...but after three... I am having a hard time deciding if it is the best or not"

Well...take no offense my dear friend and movie fanatic. Ha Ha. But I am quite certain that number 3 was the best of the series. A work of art. I might even go so far to say.

Why you ask? Well for starters...if you have to ask that question you haven't seen the movie. The chase scenes are just unbelievable and most of the movie is a chase scene. They pull in more plot, they time everything perfectly.

I just simply put do not have enough words to explain how much I enjoyed this movie. I think that you need to go and see it...no don't wait. I mean now. Just jump up out of your seat, where-ever you are...you're at work you say??
Listen to me very carefully...you need to see this movie. You suddenly have a headache or something. Don't tell me you aren't creative...I'm sure most of the people here reading my blog can think of something. You naughty people you.

The point is that I almost always leave the movie theatre during a movie for something...be that a bathroom break, food or what have you, but during this one...I was glued to my chair. I didn't even mind moving my legs for the child that kept running out of the theatre in front of me. You know why? Because I felt sorry that he had to miss the movie with all of his running and I moved my feet quickly to help ensure that he could bring his self back to his seat in as timely of a fashion as possible to watch this movie, as opposed to what I would normally like to do to someone after they run back and forth out of the theatre in front of me a couple of times. *wink Wink*

A pure delight, and I also have to add that I am one of those people that generally think that the critics are crazy when they make their comments on movies...but with this one, the critics and I are in complete agreement. Bourne 3 is a complete HIT! I shall be going to see this one again in theatres before it goes out. No worries there.

Take my advice...see this movie.

Tipsy = Louder Music

Why is it my dear friends...that as you drink more...that you want louder music? Do we suddenly become deaf? I have conducted a couple "experiments" as it were to try. And as I sit drinking, the urge to dance is overwhelming, followed closely by an urge to increase the music volume.

Is this something that happens with everyone? I would like to think so. I know whenever you go out, everyone seems to enjoy the loud music, with the exception of a couple of individuals...but it is still an enjoyable experience.

I have yet to go out and have a headache. It is almost as if the liquor has a quality *ALCOHOL* that takes away the ills. *I think this is what people with drinking problems feel* (Not to attack anyone in particular).

I am curious though...has anyone else had an experience where they have gone out for a night of dancing, food and just plain old fashioned fun, where they acquired a headache through the night? It is of course just a question, and if you have an answer feel free to comment. I always love to hear what you have to say.

Kitty Toys

Are cats picky? Some would be inclined to say yes. However I am going to Say no.
As long as it squeaks, or has a long tail, or moves, or just plain exists my cat will play with it.

Also, I must say that catnip toys have also gone over very well, but that homemade ones seem to do the best, or at least in my case.

Have you noticed how much bloody cat toys cost? Or especially those cat houses? Jeeze they cost a bloody fortune!!

I went to two different stores to compare prices on a cat house rather than making my own and I discovered that it would be FAR cheaper for me to purchase the materials myself, then use my father and grandfather's tools to create a bigger and more enjoyable cat house. Over pricing a little bit?? Yes I think so.

And cat hair brushes! Each time I have to get a new brush I cringe a little bit more inside. The price is okay for the plain bristle brushes, but what if you get a bristle brush with a little extra cushioning, or a better hand grip, well than the thing increases in price. Crazy. I guess though if what you are trying to do is make a profit, which I cannot blame anyone for doing so, but jeeze think of me, the poor person spending money on my cat.

Does anyone have any favorite toy ideas that their cat or cats like? I'm always looking for new ideas. ;) Thanks and Talk to you later!

A Bad Week...Bodes Ill For Us All.

First the bridge in Minneapolis was a horrific accident. So many people injured, people dead, property damage, but like all horrible accidents, is something that the after-effect are felt for months, even years to come. No one in Minneapolis will be the same, let alone those who had been on the bridge as it went. *My prayers and thoughts are with you all.*

I am an emotional creature whether you all believe it or not. This has been a very difficult week. Bad things happen in threes for me, or at least I recognize them in this way.

This week I have watched about the accident in Minneapolis, a dear friend of mine had her father pass away, and now this most recent thing that makes me just so sick that It truly bothers me to speak of it. However speak I shall.

The head on collision that happened in Dartmouth of Last night. Can you imagine something more horrible? Of course nothing has been proved or stated for certain as this happened just last night and the police have just recently started their investigation, however I will reference what I saw in the Chronicle Herald just this morning.

"2 Dead in Head on Collision" - That title in itself makes me sad. Such an unnecessary thing, especially when one considers that this is summer, the roads are in relatively good shape, their was no bad weather last night...but 2 people died.

The story being told about last night's crash is that there were 2 cars racing down MAIN ST, in Dartmouth ...I MEAN MAIN ST...that should have told them something right there you would think no?? And being in Dartmouth, it is only a hop-skip and a jump to a highway anyways. So if you were planning on doing something as reckless, stupid and potentially harmful as Racing your cars, why would you do it on the MAIN ST in Dartmouth where there are busy intersections and someone else has already died (crosswalk).

I am beyond being upset about this incident. One of the driver's got away from the scene and "supposedly" called a friend to tell him about the accident. *HE JUST DROVE AWAY* If you had done something such as racing on a busy street, and all of a sudden the other car you are racing with, crashes HEAD ON into another innocent driver's car. Wouldn't you at least stop?

Both cars were completely written off which gives an idea to the force of the impact. The poor innocent woman in the other car probably saw nothing but headlights before it was all over. Think of her family. Her friends, herself!

I am hoping that the other driver turns himself/herself in before someone else finds out who the driver is.

My prayers and thoughts go out to all those affected by the devastation that seems to be this week. I am especially praying for the young woman who died last night, her friends, her boyfriend, and her parents. It was a horrible accident, something that shouldn't happen but does.

Accidents like that are why we should never leave someone we love angrily, as you never know when you may have the chance to apologize or to see them again. I am not religious, but spiritual, so when I say God Bless. Take it in whatever way comforts you most. Again, my prayers are with her and her family and friends.

Sleep and The Ways It Has Eluded Me

3 Hours of sleep a night is just not enough. I could of course hope that maybe tonight...just maybe...that this will be the night that sleep takes me. However based upon the last week and the luck I have had with it...then odds are not in my favor.

Why are there some nights where the sandman just does not seem to visit? By the time your eyes open for the day, you have already lain in bed for hours staring at the clock and just hoping, and wishing that it is just an awful dream where when you wake, you will feel rested and rejuvenated...but alas... Your eyes open to yet another real day, you have lain awake since three...and nothing will change the fact that you have to be at work in an hour.

Insomnia you say? No...no I don't think so. I am more drawn to the idea that my sub-conscious is trying to tell myself something...what though?
Perhaps when you dream of nothing but tense situations at work, then wake to stare at the clock...that maybe, just maybe and correct me if I seem wrong here...that maybe I am having issues at work? However I do not believe this to be the case. Work is busy...but work is still work, and I am a firm believer of letting it go in one big rush of words when I arrive home, and then to not think about it for the rest of the night or at least until I start to dream.

Pray dear readers that the exercise, big meal and a hot bubble bath will be enough to remedy the situation in which I find myself, and that finally, I may sleep for something longer than 3 hours. Uninterrupted by the cat, screaming drunks early in the morning returning from the bars, or from whatever other interesting, intriguing or frustrating thing may come to be heard.

Either way, we must all be glad in the fact that tomorrow is Friday. Friday ahhh...the day that precedes the weekend. Oh what a magical day it is. Any worries you may have always seem to be so much smaller on this day, as you sit and say...It's okay...It's Friday and I have all weekend to relax. NOT to mention the fact that for the Halifax and Dartmouth areas that Monday is a Holiday. Yay for Natal Day.

Until tomorrow, I wish all of you a wonderful satisfying sleep. One even perhaps where you wake up refreshed, and bound out of bed only after you have stretched and smiled to yourself about a million times. Oh yes. I am wishing for a magical sleep.

Take care my beautiful dreamers...

Sunshine and the work environment

Hello Everyone.

Today is such a beautiful day out there. Welcome to another fun-filled day of scary thoughts. Okay for those of you that have already read this note on facebook....do not bother reading this now as it is duplicated here. But I BEG YOU...all of YOU...please... PLEASE...pass on the word about this scam. I don't know why anyone would give their Credit card # and expiry over the phone ANYWAYS...because my bank won't even ask for it over the phone, which is only PROPER...but where this scam originated in the states....I mean come ON people...the patriot act??

So Please read this fully, as this is just a new take on the same scheme that has been going on for over 10 years, and knowledge is power. Please pass on the word especially to older family members so that they are not scammed out of their savings, or medication money. PLEASE!! Read it....learn from it, and then follow the advice listed below. Good luck avoiding these particular individuals.

""Surprise Mr Scharf, you have been entered into a contest and are in the final running, and guess what...in 24 hours we will call you back if you have won!!"

Does this sound familiar? READ ON.

As soon as I got the phone call, i went to the website that they had indicated:

http://www.vacationmoments.com to see if there was any mention of a contest that I may have entered or someone may have entered me into. Again...nothing but an Ugly, underdeveloped and poorly laid out design that was not even specifically Ramada, but rather is a vacation company. But I didn't think much of it until...

NEXT DAY...

Jamie had got wind of a possible scam and notified me to be careful about giving out my credit card # over the phone, which of course I already knew.

Later that night...Wow...can you believe it? I WON.

I received a call from a Ramada rep named "Jenn St John" obviously fake saying that I had won an all inclusive stay at Ramada Resorts in Orlando and Fort Lauderdale. On top of that, A cruise from Florida to the Bahamas and a free car rental from the Alamo Car Rental company. Imagine that...I won a contest that I didn't even enter.... Too good to be true?

After a long spiel from Ms. St John where she attempted to endear herself to me quite pathetically, I was asked for my credit card expiry date to secure my vacation package....ahhh there's always a catch.

With that I'd had enough and basically ended the phone conversation and gave up my "dream vacation".

Ramada Plaza Resort is the name of this company. AKA Scam artists. Please go Online and read some of the consumer reports and the credit scam reports. Very tasty.

Back to the point, not mentioning any name brands, but anyone that shops in Atlantic Canada in the larger stores will know which MAIN TACO brand I am referring to.

Why oh why do I get my packages full of what? STALE TACO Shells!! Oh no you didn't!!!

I am sorry, but I must take a bit of offense at this. For those of us that so love the taste of tacos, and there are so very many of us out there, why would we go to all the trouble of doing all the grating, frying and shredding only to come to the sad realization as you bite into one of your most loved foods, that it is stale.

You run, check the date on the box for expiry which of course you have already done. You've done it twice even! And low and behold, the date on the box has not changed, and in fact it is not even near the date... so why oh WHY are my taco shells stale?

If there are any taco shell makers on this blog site, please feel free to comment. I understand some of the arguments that could be made as I myself worked in a grocery environment at one point in my life, as have many of us.

But the bags the tacos in are not punctured, the box has not been tampered with, nor crushed. You can say the store kept the product in the backroom or on the shelf too long, but that brings us back to the expiry date.

If it says good until such a date, I expect my food to be good until such a date. Mind you I generally always check my my food, but with taco shells, when the expiry is far enough away, I would hope that the shells would not be stale...but life likes to throw around these little surprises no?

The whole point, is that I hope someone from this company will read my blog, or even my readers to let me know if they have experienced this same problem. The last 4 boxes I have purchased have been stale. (I requested that this store order in a box in their next shipment and that I would purchase that box. - Yes that is expensive, but at least I can be sure they are not stale...)

Last night I found my first stale box out of the case that I purchased, so out of the 5 boxes I have had, 1 is not bad. I just hope the next time that I go, there will be some tasty, non-stale taco shells for me to enjoy.

Share your favorite taco mixes here. I personally was of the opinion that while I understand what they were trying to do by introducing this scene, I must also state that there was nothing there. No chemistry to speak of. A children's movie you say? Yes indeed it is, so why in that case...would they have not made the scene a little shorter with a little tiny bit more....oh I don't know...zest maybe?

The length of that scene caused many to say "oooh, ahhh" or various fishy and kissing noises could be heard echoing through-out the theatres. Not necessarily in an amusing way I might add.

Did anyone else feel that perhaps this scene could have been done a little bit better? Or perhaps not better, but maybe differently? I mean if you feel this way, as do I, then maybe you can understand when I say that I enjoyed the movie...No I did not enjoy it more than the other movies, and I am in fact looking forward more to the last two movies than I was looking forward to this one, and regrettably I was not as content with the ending of this movie.

What?? You say? I know some will not be happy with me for stating that as I have a family that loved the movie, minus a father and my boyfriend of course. But like I said, while I enjoyed it, I found mr potter a little bit lacking, even when you consider what was supposed to come across versus what the book was like.

Let us hope that the future scenes of this sort will have more of an impact and less of a length. The actors minus the romance scene did a nice job, well done, although snape, come on... You were one of my favorite's... step it up for the next two...you kind of have too. ;)

Thanks and intelligent comments are always more than welcome!!

Recipe

Walsh Rabbit

Sounds intriguing or disgusting? The appropriate name would be "Welsh Rarebit" but of course, as a child, how was I to know any better?

I knew that the delectable meal made me happy, that it was delicious and that my mother never told me that I was saying it wrong.

What is this you ask? Walsh Rabbit as I have fondly come to call it, is nothing more than a delightful cheese sauce. Best made with Extra Old cheese, however if you just want something bland and plain...then you go right ahead...you use that pathetic mild cheese.

The recipe itself consists of the following:

41/2 Tlb Spoons of flour

3 1/4 cup of Milk

3 Tlb spoons of Dry mustard (Be generous - tastes better to me)

1 1/3 cup of EXTRA Old Cheese (to flavor - depends on your choice) ( I like more than less)

Some people add an egg, I don't and haven't noticed a difference, up to you really.

Directions:

1. Turn Stove to medium heat (keep in mind doing so will mean a constant eye on this as you want to ensure it doesn't boil, as well that the flour does not simply stick to the bottom. Stir Stir Stir - Keeping it on medium will make it change quicker though, so I recommend Medium with loving attention. ;) )

2. Measure milk into a medium saucepan

3. Measure flour into same saucepan - using a whisk all the while to remove lumps

4. Measure Dry Mustard into same saucepan - repeat step using your handy whisk

5. Shred cheese into 1 1/3 Cup measurement and then stir using whisk or spoon

6. Make sure you keep stirring and making sure nothing sticks to the bottom.

7. Stir until you notice it starting to thicken (you will be able to tell)

8. Turn heat down to low-medium (3 ish)

9. Basically keep stirring until it is thick enough that when you scoop some up and let it run off the spoon that it makes a little bit of a pile on top of the rest in the pot. Or until you think it is as thick as you want.

10. Make up some toast, nice and toasted with butter or without, and then spoon the welsh rabbit over the toast, add salt, pepper.

The beginning

It is my hope, that this blog shall reflect my opinions on not only current issues, products or matters in the news, but also, as things come to my mind, they shall land on here.
