Happy Halloween approaching...

Ya know, I like Halloween. I have enjoyed the trick or treating, then having girlfriends over and watching scary movies, then a period where I did nothing really...and now I am back to the point where I like to watch movies with my boyfriend, and watch off the balcony for all the little devils, witches, lady bugs, and whatever other costumes they come up with.

No offense to the teens, but my favorite costumes, has and always will be those of the little tiny children and the pets dressed up. They were always just a little bit too cute to be out trick or treating but I always thought they were adorable!!

Scary movies...but what ones to watch?? I am hoping that my boyfriend will pick out which one he wants to watch. ;) So that I can claim I didn't choose it while I hide my eyes behind my fingers. Oh yes...I am one of those. *sigh*

What does everyone else do for Halloween? Any plans in particular? I hope you are all doing something...watching a movie, handing out candy... it's all in good fun.

So tell me, what are your plans? Happy Halloween!

Jeeze the papers have me on fire this week...

Okay hello readers.

Once again the papers have got me going. I mean two mornings in a row really!!

All I have this morning and I promise to make this shorter is a couple of things. FIRST off...here is a quote from the Hansard proceedings July 27, 1988 by Lawrence O'Neil. " Unborn children across this country are being suctioned from the womb by women who want to put an end to their pregnancy. Those children are being dismembered." ALSO he said " IT appears that there is a widespread acceptance of the notion that a mother should have the right to control her body. There is no such right."

Okay..pause for dramatic effect..... Wait a second, who do you think you are exactly and who appointed you to tell WOMEN and I MEAN WOMEN..not just the mothers which you listed, as most women at least consider becoming mothers at some point that we do not have the right to control our own bodies?? WHAT??? I hope someone near you swats you with a magazine when they read that quote today. (Joke. *wink*)

While I may or may not agree with abortion. I AM A FIRM believer in freedom of choice..which I believe is what Canada represents. You cannot just outright say that abortion is bad. It's not good...but that does not mean that it is bad. In some cases it is a necessary evil. Violent crimes (RAPES), medical reasons (The mother would die if the pregnancy did not end). Of course there are other situations which are more open to interpretation and it is dependent upon each situation. Unexpected pregnancies where neither the father or mother have come to the decision unanimously...the point being...Mr. O'Neil...that we as women have a choice...we include our spouses in the decision as the situation warrants, as both parents made the child...but make no mistake...WE DO have a choice.

And I'm sorry...but do you think that it would be better if there were no birth control and no abortion (OF COURSE I THINK birth control methods should already be being observed by women not wanting to conceive. AND by men prior to even considering abortion. Clearly abortion is the option we all want to avoid if possible) and then there were thousands/hundreds of thousands of unwanted births happening in every province all across Canada.

Are there not enough children in care as we speak? All I am saying is that You are WRONG Mr. O'Neil. A woman has EVERY right to control her body...the same as I would not expect someone to try to stop you from doing whatever you feel you need to, to your body. That is your right.

I was actually astounded when I read that quote. Of course, I know there are anti-abortion crusaders out there...but the end part of that quote where you said "..a mother should have the right to control her body. There is no such right." I just about lost it there. Good Job. I haven't read anything that got me going as quickly as when I was reading about Mr. Casey and Mr. Harper's "So Called Decision" yesterday in the news. BRAVO.

WOAH Wait a second...what did you say Mr. Harper??

Okay...It is well known by people close to me, perhaps not my readers as of yet, but I do not like Stephen Harper. The only reason he is in power CLEARLY to me...is because his party joined with the Conservatives. Otherwise he wouldn't have received even a single vote from eastern Canada due to his "bullying" tactics, bad-mouthing us, and in general I do just not see this man as fit to have run of our country.

An article in the Chronicle Herald this morning has me livid. Mr Harper...has turned down the support from the tories in the Colchester-Cumberland in support of their Mr. Bill Casey.

Now first I would like to mention that I in no way support the tories. BUT. I have met Mr. Casey, AND he has been a TORY LONGER than Mr. Harper has been a Tory. Please explain to me...the whole reason in saying he cannot be a party candidate is because he voted against his own government's budget legislation to protest changes to the Atlantic Offshore accord.

Some of Mr. Harper's earlier ideologies that he was fond of .... OBVIOUSLY...Western Alienation...so why...pray tell is he black balling MR. CASEY for standing up for what he thinks is right for his area??

As I said, I am not a TORY, but many people in Northern Nova Scotia where I grew up are...and I mean DIE HARD TORies...and I have to tell you...if MR. CASEY leaves the Conservatives...well...people really like him in my area and we know he stands up for our area...what do you see happening??

So in closing...come on Mr. Harper...you really think it's necessary to go to the extremes that you are?? I liken this to....the spoiled boy that tells all the kids except the one who is dating his crush that they can come over and have a party at his house....but not that boy...because he is dating the girl.

So what that means Mr. Harper in a roundabout way is that...You may lose some of your faithful and die hard tories...will it be enough to boot you out of government?? I can sure hope so. Your unwillingness to talk to the free press, your views and ideologies clearly still represent the west and not eastern canada....Let's just say this faithful liberal is hoping for an election...and honestly...as long as there is a positive change...I would be happy.

GO BILL CASEY!

"Black Snake Moan"

Hello readers!

Today I am talking about "Black Snake Moan". Last night my boyfriend and I rented and watched this movie. Well...Samuel L. Jackson as always, never fails to meet my expectations. I am not exactly a fan of Ricci, but I have to give the girl credit...she fit the part perfectly. Rae and Lazarus were very well rounded characters in my opinion.

Lazarus (Samuel) is the man. ALWAYS the man. Although I have to say that the preacher was also an amusing character.

Rae (Ricci) is a girl with a problem. Her man goes away to do a tour (His first obviously) and she goes crazy. As the story you can see that she is afflicted and is a nymphomaniac which has gathered a very negative reputation. Lazarus, a man whose wife has left him for his "brother". Lazarus is a honorable man and this can be seen through-out the film. One has to note though, how impossible this film would have been without Samuel.

I need you all to go see this movie. What did you think? I have not enjoyed a Ricci movie in a while, and I have to say that this film is one that I will be getting.

Bravo Jackson and Ricci.

Cancelled the Imac

*SIGH* After frequent dealings with the DAL PCPC we have come to the decision and have canceled our order with this business. The service we received I am sorry to say was not on par with the service we should have received due to the price we would be paying for the computer. I do not plan to pay a large amount of money only to get jerked around by the business in question.

Please do not think that we made this decision lightly. My boyfriend had spoken with a daytime manager, a shipping/receiving clerk, and a couple store sales people, and not one of them would give us a direct answer. Instead everything was "pass the buck". It was either Apple's fault, or the clerk taking the order's fault, or the most infuriating...It was our fault. I do not care what they say...have they never heard the phrase "the customer is always right"????

Obviously they have not taken any customer service positions before. Anyways, I know that word of mouth is more powerful but I hope that someone planning on purchasing a MAC computer has the good sense to go directly through apple as the delays you will get and the confusion of relatively simple orders is more than slightly bothersome.

I hope that you read this review and understand my frustration. We were trying to purchase this computer though the local area, in order for my boyfriend to receive his student discount and the other part of the promotion at the time which is why we had ordered when we had, but the constant denying of responsibility was bordering on extremely rude, and we honestly felt the best thing to do was to go where someone would at least care that they would be losing a good sale.

Think before you buy. ALSO do you notice that there is a month gap since I last wrote about the imac?? So much for 7 business days huh??
